Intimate Portraits

Renata and I planned an intimate portrait session that combined elements of boudoir and classic portraiture. My interpretation of boudoir does not rely on lingerie or provocative poses. It is about softness, confidence, and connection. Sometimes that can be as simple as being wrapped in a favorite sweater or wearing one of your husband’s shirts.

I had photographed Renata several years earlier, so she came into the session already relaxed and trusting of the process. A few sips of champagne during hair and makeup helped her fully settle into the experience. With inspiration images identified on a shared mood board, we had a clear roadmap to explore each of the styles and looks she loved.

One of her favorite portraits, featuring her middle finger, was inspired by an image I had created for another client that she had always admired. The session was full of laughter and energy from start to finish. Renata selected twenty-four images for a large album, which turned out beautifully and will be a keepsake she treasures for years to come.
