Refined Boudoir
I first photographed Mara in 2017, and we had stayed in touch over the years. Neither of us could believe how much time had passed since that first session together. For this one, we decided to explore a boudoir theme with a somewhat conservative tone. I created a mood board for her, and she let me know which images resonated most.
Mara brought an oversized sweater that worked beautifully off the shoulder. It quickly became my favorite look of the session. For another look she wore a black blazer over a bra, paired with matching black slacks. The result was a confident business look with a subtle touch of allure. For the final look I unrolled the white seamless backdrop, set up mock bedding, and projected a soft window frame shadow to add visual interest. She changed into an oversized boyfriend shirt with dark undergarments for contrast. She really had fun with this one, and we created some beautiful images while I worked from the floor to get the right composition.
The portraits from this session capture a beautiful mix of elegance, playfulness, and authenticity that perfectly reflects who she is today.
